JOSH CULTURE "DOWNFALL" VIDEO

Usually, when one of your favorite artists goes cold out of nowhere, it's most likely because they are locked away in the lab working on their next big thing. And that is definitely the case with Los Angeles based Musician Josh Culture who just broke his months-long silence to share the visual for his new single "Downfall."

Apart from a couple wild freestyle videos on Instagram and a few loosies here and there, the last time we saw a Josh Culture release was near the end of 2017 with his self-produced single "Only Girl." And though it has been some time, Josh wastes none getting back to it with "Downfall" as he goes bar for bar, seemingly issuing an ominous warning for his imminent return/revenge.

This track has a true hybrid sort of feel to it. Josh Culture plays with different melodies and flows that lean more toward a new age sound, and splits his lyrical approach in half between stealthy bars and the catchy rap-sung hook that fuses exceptionally well over the Sonos produced beat.

Josh told DROPS that he was inspired by Big L's "98 Freestyle" and wanted to, "Write a record that people can feel I'm speaking my truth over, but they're also still catchy and have infectious melodies and great lines."

Peep the full visual for "Downfall" below along with the stream for "Only Girl" and follow Josh Culture on Instagram here for more new music. More to come after the DROP.
