ALBUM: HAKIM "YOUNG DRIFTER II"

The Midwest is on some Harlem Renaissance/Roaring 2018's type shit considering all of the heat coming from the Bread Basket as of late. One of the newest standout releases to permeate from the region comes from Nebraska's own Corn Coaster Hakim by way of his new album Young Drifter II.

Boasting it's own unique, whimsical, introspective, and lyrically motivated sound, this project is a Superman level bound and leap into new territory for Hakim. Laced with 11 tracks, Young Drifter II teeters between Conscious Rap and New Age dope. But don't pigeon hole the project because it is full of surprises.

There are serious masterpieces like the Grace Lundy assisted "Climbing" along side flexy bangers like "Not Juice." But don't let these two standouts steer you away from the dense set of music that spans from top to bottom on this project. Overall, this ting is fire and more than worthy of a spot in your regular rotation.

Stream the new project from Hakim below and stay tuned for more moves from the Midwest MC soon. More to come after the DROP.
