EP: TAKE THE WEEK OFF "HOMESICK"
Artist and Producer Take The Week Off is the typical West Coast transplant from the midwest. Hailing from the heartland of Omaha, Nebraska, Take The Week Off moved to Los Angeles, California nearly three years ago to pursue his dream of becoming a recording artist. Last week his journey reached an immense milestone as the artist released his debut project, the Homesick EP.
The impressive six track project clocks in at exactly 22 minutes and features blazing lyrics, explosive production and one-off pitch shifting provided by Take The Week Off. Not to mention that the project is a solo effort with no features.
There are notes of experimental "Boom Bap" Hip Hop inspired by the likes of Madlib's "Quasimoto" alter ego and MF Doom with records like "Cardio" alongside spacious free form tracks like "Studio Bedroom" and "Sink."
In addition to the project, Take The Week Off delivered an intriguing trailer to promote the EP and tell the harrowing story leading up to its release.
